Learning to Mush
Who knew.....Opening Happy Tails would be a spring board to the land of mushing? From Diggler Scooters to Risdon Sleds, both of which I now own, and still don't have my own sled dogs. Oh don't count my Border Collie Brutis out yet....He knows Gee and Haw and is learning how to pull from a very patient Husky named Bailey. I now belong to PSDSA and have met some wonderful mushers. It's only a matter of time before I become what they call "A dog junkie" These folks give you pointers, loan you dogs, gear, and make sure you have a great time. This winter I took my maiden voyage on a sled with 4 well trained dogs up at Diamond Lake. I asked my Mentors....."What do I do?"....They replied, "Just get on and GO"....I said "OK"....the dogs heard "OK" and they took off.....LOL This was the most enjoyable and peaceful excursion in a very long time. Who knew....I spent 12 years trying to get my Nonaya not to pull on her leash....She knew!!!!!

A gift from My Idol
Growing up as the youngest AKA Baby of the family usually found me back with the Adults. My Folks best friends, Frankie and Pat Brawand were my idols. They had ALL the animals including a team of Huskies and Malamutes. Frankie would tuck me under his wing and I learned about his passion for mushing. Who knew, but God, that this passion would be re-developed in me years later? First, the Pet Wash, dedicated to my Nonaya. Second, meeting my Friend Allyson through the Pet Wash, who just happens to own a team of Huskies. Third, tagging along with Allyson to the Annual Mushing Dry Run, who introduced me to some wonderful people that also knew Frankie and Pat. And finally, discovering the hidden passion from years ago had been a gift left from my idol. So very thankful…….

First Blog
Grew up begging for animals.....Christmas list began with Horse and ended with Goldfish.....always unwrapped Barbies LOL Moved out at 18...bought my first cat, Barnie....Have had countless beloved pets through the years. My beautiful Husky lost a year ago still holds my heart.....dedicated the Dog Wash to her and was shocked as the very first dog in the shop was, yep you guessed it, a Husky......
